About the Conference

What?  A Conference on a Cruise?

Yes, that’s right.  This is our second year running CoderCruise! It’s a unique experience that you won’t regret joining. We host multiple days worth of sessions for programmers while giving the close-knit experience of being on a ship together heading through the Bahamas.

For 5 days and 4 nights, you will be on a ship with other attendees, learning from each other, team building and forming community relationships that will last for years to come.

Whoever decides to travel with you to CoderCruise will be considered part of our conference and welcome to all our events. There are fantastic activities for family members both on and off the ship, and daycare is provided for young kids and clubs for older teens. We’ll bring everyone together for lunches & dinner as well. How many conferences have you attended where you could bring the family along and know that they’ll be entertained while you attend sessions?

This year we chose a cruise that happens over an extended holiday weekend, making it even easier for your loved ones (or friends) to join you!

The Carnival Conquest

The Carnival Conquest will be our home for the duration of the event and sails from Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades). It’s a medium size cruise ship, able to hold up to 2,980 guests, weighing in at 110,000 tons and is 953 feet long.  The ship features multiple restaurants on board with 24/7 dining, 3 pools, 5 hot-tubs, a sports deck with miniature golf and a basketball court, a gym, spa, water slides, sports bar, pub, casino, and so much more…

Your all-in-one ticket includes access to the conference as well as everything that you need on board.  Your room, all meals, and tons of entertainment options, including the big production numbers each evening in the showroom, stand up comedians, nightclub, and a sing-a-long piano bar. Each day the ship puts together a full itinerary of activities to keep you busy (plus the conference itself)!  The only things not included are alcohol, soda, and some higher-end restaurants that have nominal fees.

This year we are not planning any official group excursions mainly due to the nature of our ports of call. However, at Half Moon Cay – we will be staking out a section of beach and chairs for our group to hang together and enjoy some fun in the sun.

Join Us!

We look forward to seeing you & your travel companions in the Bahamas this year! Pricing varies by the type of room you want, as well as how many people will be in it (cruise ships charge ‘per bed’ versus per room like hotels, to take into account the inclusive entertainment & meals).

As always, please feel free to reach out to us. We are ready to answer any questions!
